Great American Ballpark History
Great American Ballpark opened on March 31st,
2003. This day was christened by George W. Bush
throwing out the first pitch. The groundbreaking
for the ballpark was on October 4th, 2000.
Great American Ballpark is equipped with many
innovative features. This stadium is equipped
with one of the largest scoreboards in baseball
today. There is also a separate scoreboard incorporated
into the left field wall to keep spectators up
to the minute on other games that are going on
around the country. For homeruns, there are two
large smokestacks and a misting system that will
send fireworks shooting into the sky when a homerun
is hit.
